Your adventure begins in the picturesque village of Imlil, a hub for trekkers in the High Atlas Mountains. Nestled in a lush valley at 1,800 meters above sea level, Imlil is surrounded by walnut groves, terraced fields, and the towering peak of Mount Toubkal. After meeting your guide and muleteers, you’ll set off toward the Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2,279 m).
The trail ascends gradually, offering panoramic views of the Imlil Valley. As you cross the pass, the landscape shifts dramatically, revealing the serene Imnan Valley. Descend to Tacheddirt, the highest village in the Atlas Mountains at 2,300 meters. Here, you’ll spend the night in a traditional Berber guesthouse, enjoying a warm meal and unparalleled stargazing opportunities.

The second day of your trek takes you through a variety of landscapes, from high-altitude pastures to rocky slopes dotted with wildflowers. You’ll traverse the Tizi n’Likemt Pass (3,555 m), the highest point of your journey. The climb is demanding but rewards you with breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
After a well-deserved rest at the summit, begin your descent into the lush valley below. Pass through small, isolated hamlets where life has remained largely unchanged for centuries. Arrive in Timichi, a charming Berber village surrounded by orchards. Here, you’ll spend the night in a traditional guesthouse, savoring a delicious dinner of local specialties.

The final leg of your trek takes you through the verdant Ourika Valley, famous for its cascading waterfalls and vibrant flora. The trail follows a gentle descent, weaving through terraced fields, fragrant juniper forests, and quaint villages. Along the way, you’ll encounter friendly locals tending to their fields and herds.
As you approach Setti Fatma, the landscape becomes more dramatic. The village is renowned for its seven waterfalls, which are a popular spot for picnics and relaxation. After exploring the area and perhaps cooling off in the refreshing waters, your trek concludes. From here, you can arrange transport back to Marrakech or extend your stay to further explore the Ourika Valley.
Accommodation: You’ll stay in traditional Berber guesthouses, which provide simple but comfortable lodging. Expect warm hospitality, hearty meals, and an authentic cultural experience.
Meals: Local cuisine will fuel your trek, with dishes like tagines, couscous, and freshly baked bread. Vegetarian options are widely available.

Pack Smart
Embark on a captivating trek from Imlil, ascending for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes in an eastern direction toward Tizi’n’Tamaterte (2279m). Traverse through picturesque barley fields and orchards adorned with cherry, walnut, and apple trees, eventually reaching Tamaterte village. Continuing beyond the village, the trail meanders through a lush forest of pine and juniper trees as we ascend to Tizi, where a brief pause allows us to relish the breathtaking vistas of Imlil and Imnane Valleys. The landscape unfolds with Berber villages nestled on the slopes. Pressing forward for another hour brings us to Wanskra and Amagdoul villages, where we'll indulge in a delightful field picnic on the plateau. In the afternoon, dedicate around 2 hours to trek along mule trails, ascending through the valley to a time-honored Berber village. Our night will be spent in the welcoming ambiance of a gite d’etape in Tachdirth (2291m).
Begin the day with a refreshing breakfast, setting the tone for exploration. Today's journey includes a 6-hour hike, leading us southeast to Timichi village (1850m). Over the next 2.5 hours, ascend gradually to the striking Tizi’n’Tachdirth (3200m), offering captivating views of Bouignouane (3882m) and Jbel Aksoual (3842m) on one side, and Angour on the other. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Verdant Valley below. Progress for the next 2 hours through a rocky pass in the northeast direction, reaching Iaabbassen village (2030m). Take a break for a delightful field picnic by the village spring. In the afternoon, enjoy a 2-hour descent in the northeast, leading to Timichi village—a historic, terraced settlement surrounded by ancient nut trees. Conclude the day with a satisfying dinner in a traditional Berber family house, where we'll spend the night.
Begin the day with a delightful breakfast before embarking on a 4-5 hour hike, meandering through captivating corn fields and lush walnut groves along the valley's eastern path. Traverse the charming villages of Tadrart and Anfli as you make your way to the scenic Ourika Valley. Enjoy a picturesque picnic near the renowned Setti Fadma village. Following an additional half-hour hike, reunite with our waiting vehicle for a comfortable return journey.
