As we navigate through the valley towards Tacheddirt, approximately 8 kilometers beyond Imlil, we encounter a continuous flow of people descending from the mountains and others gearing up for their adventure. Upon reaching Imlil, our mule team awaits, and after loading our gear, we begin our trek. The trail gradually ascends as we make our way to the Tizi n'Tamatert pass at an elevation of 2,279 meters. Descending from the pass, we arrive at the charming village of Ouaneskra, and after another half-hour trek, we reach Tacheddirt at 2,300 meters. Here, we typically set up camp near the river, offering a picturesque setting. The day concludes with meals included: 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner, totaling approximately 5 to 6 hours of trekking.
We traverse the valley, initiating a challenging and gradual ascent towards the Tizi Likemt pass, standing at an elevation of 3,555 meters. The terrain poses its challenges with a substantial presence of loose scree. Reaching the summit, we are rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of the Toubkal massif, marking our first encounter with its magnificence.
