Day 1: Arrival in Ait Bouguemez – Gateway to the M’Goun Valley

Your journey begins in Marrakech, where you’ll drive to the enchanting Ait Bouguemez Valley, also known as the “Happy Valley.” Surrounded by terraced fields, mud-brick villages, and apple orchards, this area offers a peaceful introduction to the trek. After settling into a traditional guesthouse, enjoy a guided walk around the valley to acclimatize and explore local Berber culture.

Day 2: Trek from Ait Bouguemez to Tighremt n’Ait Ahmed

The first full day of trekking begins with a gradual ascent through lush fields and small hamlets. Passing through juniper and oak forests, you’ll arrive at Tighremt n’Ait Ahmed, a traditional Berber village. The trek offers ample opportunities to interact with locals and experience their daily life. Overnight in a mountain gîte.

Day 3: Crossing Tizi n’Ait Imi – High Pass Adventure

The day starts with a challenging ascent to Tizi n’Ait Imi (2,920 m), a high mountain pass offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. After a well-earned rest at the summit, descend into the remote M’Goun Valley. Camp overnight near the village of Oulilimt.

Day 4: Summit Day – Mount M’Goun (4,068 m)

This is the most demanding yet rewarding day of the trek. An early start ensures you reach the summit of Mount M’Goun before noon. The path is steep and rocky but offers unparalleled views of the Atlas Mountains and beyond. On a clear day, you might even glimpse the distant Sahara Desert. After celebrating your achievement, descend to the base camp for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Descend to the Roses Valley

The trek descends through the dramatic M’Goun Gorge, where towering cliffs and narrow pathways create a breathtaking atmosphere. Follow the river, crossing it multiple times, until you reach the entrance of the Roses Valley. Overnight in a cozy guesthouse.

Day 6: Return to Marrakech

On the final day, drive back to Marrakech, passing through scenic landscapes and small towns. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to stop for photos and visit the famous Ouzoud Waterfalls or Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, depending on the route. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening, where the trek concludes.
