While the classic route from Imlil is the most popular, the journey through the Azzaden Valley offers an enchanting alternative. This path combines breathtaking landscapes, traditional Berber culture, and a sense of seclusion, making it an unforgettable experience.
The Azzaden Valley route to Mount Toubkal offers a quieter, more scenic trek compared to the standard path. The trail traverses lush valleys, terraced farmlands, and dramatic mountain ridges. This route is ideal for trekkers seeking a mix of natural beauty and cultural immersion. Typically, the trek spans 3 to 5 days, depending on your pace and itinerary.

Overnight stay in Tizi Oussem, a charming Berber village.

The refuge provides basic accommodations, including dormitory-style rooms and communal meals. It’s a bustling hub where trekkers from various routes converge. While the facilities are basic, the camaraderie and shared experiences create a vibrant atmosphere. and amazing trek
Commencing at 9:00 am, our team will pick you up from your Marrakech accommodation. A 1 ½ hour scenic drive will transport you to Imlil (1,780m), the starting point of your trek. Upon arrival, you'll meet your knowledgeable guide and muleteer. After loading up the mules, embark on your trek, beginning with an invigorating ascent out of the Imlil valley, reaching the Tizi n Mzik pass (2,489m) for breathtaking mountain panoramas. The trail then descends into the enchanting Azzadene valley, renowned locally as the valley of color. Along the way, you'll encounter the summer village of Azib n’Tansoult and the picturesque D’Irhouliden waterfalls, which flow consistently. Your journey culminates at the Lepiney mountain refuge (3,000m), where you will spend the night surrounded by the serene mountain ambiance. terfalls before climbing the Aguelzim Mountain pass (3,560m). Lunch will be taken in a spot with panoramic views over the Atlas Mountain Range. After taking in the scenery you’ll begin a descent to the Toubkal Mountain Refuge (Neltner Hut) at 3,200m. The dorms at the refuge tend to be crowded with other trekkers aiming to tackle Toubkal early next morning so in the summer and when the weather allows we typically camp at the Refuge

Following this, descend to the Toubkal Mountain Refuge (Neltner Hut) at 3,200m. During the summer and favorable weather conditions, we opt for camping at the Refuge to avoid the crowded dorms, as fellow trekkers prepare to tackle Toubkal the next morning.

Weather permitting, the summit rewards your efforts with breathtaking views of the Atlas Range and the Sahara Desert. Post-summit glory, retrace your path to the Toubkal Mountain Refuge, then follow the familiar trail back to Imlil, passing the revered Muslim site of Sidi Charmmharouch. Upon reaching Imlil, embark on a transport back to Marrakech, with an anticipated arrival in the early evening.
